Dear Students and Esteemed Stakeholders,

Yalova University Altınova Vocational School, Department of Motor Vehicles and Transportation Technologies, consists of two programs: Shipbuilding and Underwater Technology. At present, the actively operating program is the Shipbuilding Program.

Türkiye has rapidly become a global centre in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair. In particular, the strong infrastructure and production capacity of the Altınova Shipyards Region provide our students with a unique environment for learning, practice, and employment. Located at the heart of this region, our school offers students the opportunity to gain a solid theoretical foundation while also acquiring practical experience in the field. The content of our program is shaped by the current needs of the sector, feedback from stakeholders, and modern engineering approaches, thereby offering our students an innovative and sustainable education.

In order to enhance the professional competencies of our students, the 3+1 education model is implemented. Through this model, our students spend three semesters at school receiving theoretical training and one semester directly in the sector, gaining practical experience. In this way, they are well-prepared for professional life before graduation and gain a significant advantage in the industry.

Our department not only delivers course content but also strengthens education through collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, industry representatives, and other departments of our university. In this manner, the needs and feedback of our students, academic staff, and the department are systematically monitored, and our educational processes are continuously improved.

Our goal is to educate students not only as technically competent professionals but also as innovative, environmentally conscious individuals who can make a difference in the maritime industry. The knowledge, skills, and experiences you will gain here will serve as the most reliable compass in your future journey.
